An Afternoon in Rotary Park

Sitting in the shade of an aging poplar, playing on the swings, shrieking in the water park, weeding the hyssop, socializing the latest canine recruit........the antidote to the vandalism on Tenth Avenue committed by one or more troubled souls is watching how much pleasure and sense of community is derived from Rotary Park. It is part of Cranbrook's Spirit Square after all and the good spirit far outweighs the bad.

Now if only those trees could talk!

After learning of the loss of two valued police dogs in Vancouver this last week it was heartwarming to see 'Dene' just starting out on his important career.  Constable Tarala is Dene's caregiver and initial trainer.

From the left Ally White, Amanda Abery and Alli Tadey, three of the hardworking summer students employed by the City of Cranbrook to keep us looking spruced up and presentable.  These girls weed, water, trim, prune, edge and dig their way through the summer months and they enjoy their work.   You do an awesome job girls.
