Blissett Seeks NDP Nomination

Norma Blissett of Cranbrook has announced that she will seek the nomination in the Kootenay East provincial riding.


Blissett is a forester and a teacher and has lived in Cranbrook for the past seventeen years. She is currently teaching science and math at Mt. Baker Secondary School.
Norma plans to spend her summer travelling throughout the riding meeting and listening to the local people.

  2. Assuming a positive decision by the NEB on its review of the environmental assessment, does she support or oppose the construction of the Gateway pipeline to Kitimat and an oil loading facility? Why?

  3. To Anonymous,
    I am opposed to Enbridge's Northern Gateway pipeline. The construction of this pipeline will put too much of BC at risk for too little economic return.
    The BC NDP has stated that they are opposed to this project and they have cited numerous reasons to back their opposition. You can refer to the BC NDP website for more information. Just go to the newsroom tab and scroll down to the April 30, 2012 news release.
