Pageantry and Hope

The last two posts on this blog have not been uplifting but watching the grace and dignity shown by our Queen as her Diamond Jubilee has been celebrated  over the last few days demonstrates what continuity, steadfastness and role modelling can accomplish.  As was said many times by commentators, "She gives us hope."  Many might question the expense of such pomp and pageantry at a time when the world's so called economy is at a turning point but as has been pointed out, this enormous celebration was paid for privately.  The Royal Family generates far more revenue than is expended by British taxpayers.  In fact British taxpayers contribute less than a dollar each per year to the Royal Family and a very great number of the world's population have been uplifted by this fabulous celebration.  It was grand and inspiring.
