submitted

BC NDP Labour Critic Shane Simpson and Kootenay East Candidate Norma Blissett will speak to the Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada at their 51st Annual Provincial Convention this week in Cranbrook.

Blissett, a former forester, says she looks forward to addressing the group and sharing some of the practical steps the BC NDP will take toward growing a sustainable economy in our province.

“I have been in pulp mills in Temiscaming, Espanola, Dryden and Skookumchuck.  I know the value of the pulp and paper industry, particularly to rural economies,” she said.

Simpson and Blissett are scheduled to speak at 1:30pm Thursday March 7th at the Heritage Inn.
