There are many varieties of Ninebark or Physocarpus opulifolius on the market today. Dart's Gold, Diablo and 'Summer Wine' are just a few bred specifically for leaf colour. The colours range from green, golden through to rusty orange to a more bronze shade. Ninebarks display attractive white or pink flowers in summer, are fast growing and show best colour when planted in full sun. The exfoliating layers of bark give rise to the name.
