Out and About with Stewart

Birdwatching or birding is one of the most popular recreational activities throughout much of the world.  It is no less so in our own area where we are lucky to both hear and see an abundance of birds year round.  Living in the Columbia Valley migration path, spring and fall are especially exciting with many birds returning to summer or winter breeding or resting grounds.  The first Bluebird sighting is always a treat and being chased away from a Grouse nesting area by a protective hen is not an experience to be forgotten.  The sound of happy Song Sparrows or a Robin defending her area on spring mornings makes this a wonderful time of year for observing our feathered friends.
