Big Brothers Big Sisters Info Night

 Community Information Session with
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook
An evening of learning, connecting and creating something BIG!

Cranbrook, BC -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook is looking for community members to attend their information session on June 5, 2013 at the College of the Rockies from 7 - 9pm in room 205. This session will include fun learning about what programs are available in the community and the steps to getting involved. Participants in our current “matches” will be available to talk to and share their experiences about the program. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff will also be there to answer any questions and snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cranbrook was established in 1977 and is the largest youth mentoring organization, providing quality adult mentoring services for more than 80 local children and youth. Our mentoring programs have proven to be instrumental in reducing truancy, bullying, early school leaving, delinquency and substance abuse.

All of the children and youth in our programs are matched with adult mentors based on similar interests. Each mentor is expected to spend an hour a week with their match, and this can be done in our in school programs or our traditional community programs. Currently we have over 20 children on the waitlist, all of whom would greatly benefit from having a meaningful mentoring relationship.

This evening information session is a great opportunity to learn about a program that has the potential to make a significant difference in the lives of children and youth. Our programs would not be possible without the dedication from all the incredible mentors involved. So please come out to this session and start something BIG!
